    Engine bay temp/fan

Do we bother with the engine bay fan? I have the old 3SGE loom so can hack the wiring out for it.

It would be one less thing to paint if not...

    An interesting question....

It does get stupidily hot under the bay, have a look in the body section for Murf's vented engine cover.

However, the fan is mainly for low speed situations; at anything more than 30 mph its going to act as a restruction. It may be interesting to see if removing the fan improves cooling or makes it worse.

Have thought of changing the side fan on mine for something with a bit more oooomph, but its way down the list of priorities!

I'd imagine at anything over 30mph the bay won't be getting that hot? And that it is when stationary that the fan would really be needed?

Too many questions, not enough answers from Mr Green :)

Ah, just noticed we're talking Mk2's here - I'm out of my league now; Same pricinples apply though.

    I'd say keep it in.

The fan control ECU has a feed from the speed sensor, and doesn't turn the fan on over a certain speed anyway;)
