Ok guys - I keep missing out on the 2.0 turbos so I'm guessing it's just not in my destiny....

How about the V6 in the Mk 1? Sounds really interesting. Or how about the V8? Now that sounds like real power... But the only thing is it would have to be boosted as well...

So how does the V6 or V8 fair with a snail attached? or poss 2 of them? I'm sure is the man for this one seeing he owns a V8... How would that be twin-turboed? ( very expensive fir the conversion I'm guessing...)

Any Info any1?

Pretty wide question there:)

The v6 turbo has been done here or is just completing. Check that one out here (http://forums.twobrutal.com/showthread.php?t=8745). The mk1 with v6 has been done a few times and msherry21 has even got a supercharger on it. Runs like hell that car! Check it out here (http://forums.twobrutal.com/showthread.php?t=7240) From what i understand i would rather supercharge the v6 and v8`s instead of turboing them. Anyone share the same conclution?

V8 in the mr2 is hard. Hard in the mk1, but even harder in the mk2 because there`s less space i think. Lot of modifying. Check out Podge (http://forums.twobrutal.com/showthread.php?t=7524) and Pauls (http://forums.twobrutal.com/showthread.php?t=2956) threads in the v8 section.

Well, maybe we'll see when the 5VZ-FE is built. The 3.4ltr V6.

For power, I think a big single is the way to go, though.

you could run 2 small snails...and then youd get a bit of HP...
but given the torque curve of the V's...you may as well have just one..and run the bastard hard;)

Im going supercharged V8..and not with a trd one either...when I get too my next project...but the V8 is a whole lot of work...just look at the lilly thread(in the V8 section too see what your up against)

the V6 with a trunk mount snail should make a Mk 1 boogie like never before;)

dont even consider going v8 unless you have a very fat wallet!

the 2.0 litre is very snappy. i very much like the v6 mk1 aswell, its a different animal, roars and pulls. the V8 is at the top end of the scale as yet, undefined entity, i couldnt imagine 300lb/ft kicking it an 2krpm!, the mid range aswell it'l pull the hairs off your chin no doubt, maybe a little expensive to run as a daily driver, how-ever it hasnt got half the weight to pull from its predecessor which comes in around 1650KG !, the fuel economy is around 15-20 city traffic and 26-32mpg average extra urban in the ls400 1uz etc. with more than a third of the weight gone i expect the fuel economy to adjust a little accordingly on extra urban, depends how much you tune it for performance i guess, i'm not imagining a v8 mk1 will not be driven like a sedate lex is!

v8s seem to be just to big for all the trouble. You'll be hacking the frame, and doing so much work just to get it in there. I think it really isnt worth the trouble.

the 3sgte is a good option, done plenty of times and LOTS of aftermarket support. but its still an inline 4 replacing an inline 4

v6 just seems like the best way to go. Best bang for your buck almost. the 3vzfe is basically the 3sgte without turbolag and a bunch more torque. It fits in and there isn't any really hard modding. God forbid you put the trd supercharger on it, or even a custom blower or custom supercharger.

v6 also gets great fuel economy but there isnt alot of support for aftermarket. but i think its the best of all worlds
