Hi all, just sorting out the suspension on the front of my mk1b. I know on the rear, the camber adjuster bolt(with the notch in it)is pointed to 12 o'clock.

Where should it be pointed on the front? at the moment its set at 9 o'clock, not sure if thats right.

cheers for any help.

The stock camber settings in autodata are 0.25+-0.5 degrees negative for the front and 0.75+-0.5 degrees negative for the rears.

IIRC the adjustment marks don't relate to a specific camber, just how far from an already known camber the wheel will move for each mark turned. Ideally you still have to be able to measure the camber to have a reference point for adjustment, as the actual camber of the strut (which the adjuster bracked is part of) is affected by things like spring & strut lengths which change with wear and replacement.

Nice one mate, That helps a bit, car has still to have a full global geometry setup, It was just to make sure I could drive it ok for a few days before it goes in to be done.

Cheers.

Hey guys, does anyone know in general how much a full alignment and all that jazz costs?

...And is having the car corner weighted worth while, and what does it actually do?

I paid £75 + VAT for 4 wheel alignment at a place in St Annes last year

That's not a bad price if it covered camber as well, and not just toe

Lyn paid £55 at a ford dealership, but I don't think they want to do another.

i am sure jimsr will tell you in more detail , but the idea of corner weights is to try and get the the same weights across the axles so as to get even weight distribution, you can also tell the balance front to rear so with race cars you can shift ballast in the chassis to correct any imbalance. with the mr2 it may be just put a tool box in the front!!lol

Front & rear camber and toe ( inc use of oxy-acetylene to free up the rear toe adjusters :freak3: ) - I watched them do it. Transformed the handling of the car completely
