Hey guys,
as of last night 3s is on the garage floor and 99 1mz is on freight to my shop.
thanks to Jaemus for the inspiration, it was always something to do but too busy with my new shop.

Everything is go and im looking to get it finished by sat 9th june.
however to save time, does any1 know where i can source a timing belt side fabricated engine mount? i'l be using a fidanza lightweight flywheel and 1mz standard clutch as im on a budget of $6k.

Has any1 done the 1mz into mr2 conversion?

what are the rumors of the duel Trottle body for 1mz?

thanks guys -Scott Jones

Dual throttle body is on the 3mz 3.3l v6 engine. It can be found out of a lexus RX330, but I'm not sure if the aussie rx330 has it or not.

Yeah this is my official build, with pics to come. you guys will love the aussie way of "dropping out" a 3s in the backyard.

this build comes after a long streak of bad luck, involving 3: 3sge 1:moutain wall and 8:tyres all in less than 10,000Km.
the last 3sg was a complete head rebuil after the electronic water pump failed which involved hks cams+gears, valve springs retainers and locks, ferria 1mm oversized valves and a .8mm TRD head gasket.
After it was all fitted and put back on the block only to realize the block was warped and had previously been shaved.
So rather engine out and back in with another 3s, why not use a V6:twisted:

wish me luck with this one

your not gonna find that on any 3mz but mine ;)

it's exclusive to the non drive by wire 1mz vvti's

Hey guys, sorry so late with the update.
Im been in the process of reconditioning the 1mz because the wreaker was unable to verify the Km on the motor.
list of mods to long motor;
timing belt
water pump
oil pump
All water lines and silicon lines
fuel rails 700cc injectors with braided lines
Haltech EX6 fuel and ignition ECU
swapped to map senor from AFM
3x duel post ign coils
Haltech ign module
Nology hotwire ign leads
custom extractors
2 & 3/4'' exhuast, high flow cat and Remus catback muffler
custom carbon cold air intake
Fidanza lightweight flywheel
toyota 1MZ organic clutch

Today i attemped to bolt on the gearbox and ran into a problem however,
the 3sge gearbox bolts up to the 1mz but only the top 3 bolts... the lower half of the gearbox does not line up to the 1mz bolt holes.
i have not yet fitted the clutch and flywheel because i am still waiting on clutch from toyota. I need to dummy fit the motor and box in my SW20 so the extractors can be finished before wiring.

Can anyone that has done the SW20 1MZ conversion shed some light?

pics to be added soon

you should have four bolts that line up (two on the top and two on the diff side) and an extra one near the starter motor that requires a nut and bolt

Is that for the 3vz or the 1mz?
i have the box lined up on the locator pins and have 2 bolts at the top of the box but no other holes line up short of tapping the block near the starter motor.

update;
the 1mzfe flywheel unofficailly fits 3sge gearbox (still not bolted up fully) HOWEVER... the 1mz clutch doent not, the spline is different to the 3sg box, im not sure ATM if the 3sge clutch will mate to the 1mz flywheel i'l have to get it back off a mate i stupidly gave it to earlier today.

i would find and test a 1mz gearbox in the mr2 but issues would be the linkage would be on the opposite side of the box and the 1mz box is rare in Aus because it only came out in a "touring edition" camry...
