engine check light

my engine check light on the dash isn't working, I expect theres a fault / break in the curcuit somewhere probably the multiple b/y wire connections when wiring. is there a quick way around this to pull fault code, I remember using an l.e.d in Te1 + e1 or something similar.. cheers

I've just tested te1 + e1 with ign on / off. off no volts.. on constant 12v.

yep TE1 to E1 to get the code but this signal gets output from the ecu..i think the check connector simply turns that signal on and off..
from memory pin A5 on the ECU is the CEL output signal..try sticking a LED on that with TE1 and E1 connected..
