Today I sorted out storage for my mr2... finally found a place to do my conversion, so today I went and bought tools and things and towed the 2 to the storage garage. Didn't do anything today on her but tomorrow I will start removing the old crappy 3s ;) hehe
I'll buy a digital camera to take photos throughout the conversion to keep yas up-to-date :D

Didn't get much done today as I had court this morning for when I was caught driving while my licence was suspended... got 6 months disqualification... so have 6 months to finish my conversion haha...
Drained the oil and of course me being the messy bitch that I am got oil everywhere...

Also removed the rear wheels and began to remove the brakes as I'm upgrading those when the engine goes in...

well it just so happens I have a state of the art underwater camera you can borro.....darn it just realised it was so far away! darn it!

Today I drained the brake fluid and removed the calipers and discs... then started to begin to remove the exhaust (didn't get very far coz of stupid stubborn bolts and ran outta daylight...)
On sunday will drain the gearbox fluid (attempted that today but couldn't undo the bolt haha...) and try to finish removing the exhaust
you seem good at draining fluids:P

Needed help to get the gearboxes drain bolt undone (I'm a weakling lol)... disconnected the sway bar from the end links... disconnected balljoint from lower suspension arm... and diconnected adjustment arm from the brake assembly...

Well after three weeks of not going to work on my baby (too busy moving house), I finally got off my arse and went to work. Today I removed the rear axles and crossmember... luckily one of my mates turned up just as I was ready to get the axles out of the tranny... so he helped getting that out for me.

Well today I did the front brakes... replaced them with Gen 2 brakes... found out why the gen 2 come out with 15 inch wheels... as my old 14s don't fit! What funky colours! lol

Now... what's the easiest way of attaching the gearbox to the motor? It's not like I can just lift the gearbox on... lol
Aye, it's no fun putting the box on, takes a lot of wigglin.
Just follow Tonys' instructions and it should be no problem...on Paffs Mk1V6 the gearbox was easier to get on the V6 than to get off the 3sgte.
Have you checked the flywheel bolts don't protrude too far...no fun to take the box off again to double check...eh Paff ;)
That's just the angle of the pic (being a perfectionist the clutch is perfectly centre...) well anyway I went out there this morning, just shifted the motor a bit and she went straight on, lol (easy as pie!). Not quite bolted on as the left hand side bolt is too short and not having a car or licence couldn't get a longer one today :s

Ok question!! The bottom gearbox bolt that's at the bottom of the motor - I'm using the E153, what's the length on that bolt? As I can't find the old bolt from the old motor and box, :s
its the top one...on the front behind the starter motor...if Im guessing right from the pxt she sent me earlier:P
if its too long...could always put a nut on it...chop it off...then wind the nut off, if you just need a shorter one...
I'm meaning the one underneath the motor and flywheel... the very bottom one. there's 4 on the top and then there's one underneath, which is the one im meaning lol.
not got that far yet...next week..I should get mine on the mounts in the car...so I should be able too tell you then...but then Im bolting it too an A241e...
Ok, well I should be able to basically just put the motor in, and deal to it later...
And to that note... the custom mount from fourveesix, are there pics of that going in?? and what bolts are needed for it??
one bolt hole on the gearbox needs a long bolt 10cm iirc because both holes are threaded you need to use a bolt.
4v6 mount - use the bolts from the original mount

lol well the chch courts seized it today for outstanding fines (my mate was driving and was on the ownership as I have no licence so he needed to go on the ownership form so we could get insurance... and even though I have a receipt to say I paid for it in full with cash!!!) so we have 7 days to come up with $3,400 or they're gonna sell it. I'm not happy!!!
