Testing a fuel pump?

Hi all, I was just wondering if there was any way I could test my fuel pump? Its never been changed and I think it could be on its way out as I'm back down to standard boost, checked everything else...and I just gave my walbro away for Paul to throw in the mk1, so I need a new pump aswell if this is the problem.

the pump should read 33-38 psi at idle.. short of installing a temporary pressure gauge on the end of the supply line, or plumbing in an aftermarket one i cant see a good way of checking the efficiency of a pump.

ah.. theres a nice one in the ebay section..but will need a control unit, i got a spare control unit by chance :hidesbehi
