Hi all, after meeting up with Mr Woods this afternoon and determining that I need wider wheels for the V6sc conversion I have been searching and found these:

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ROTA-CUP-ALLOY-WHEELS-16x8-4X100-MX5-GOLF-POLO-CLIO_W0QQitemZ250004227594QQihZ015QQcategoryZ9888Q QssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem?hash=item2500 04227594

they don't look bad and a nice 16x8" wheel should be good. What size tyre would be best for front and rear of these wheels?

And other help greatly appreciated.

Michael.

i think the biggest you can go to without altering the arches is 205 fronts and 225 rears.

Awesome, Is that with a 45mm profile? Will the 8" width at the front be a problem do you think? my mk2 is staggered but its really difficult to get staggered 16" rims for the mk1.

thanks.

I thought I should point out in case you'll want bigger brakes later that this kind of wheel (in fact any deep-dish design, inc the polished deep rim BBS types) leaves a lot less room inside as the curved bits of the spoke go where the caliper wants to...

30mm less room radially due to curved spokes (easily that much wasted by the spoke in the ebay photo) makes the difference between 300mm discs in 16's verses only having room for 240mm discs in the same "size" 16's!!!
:eek2:

ok, so not buying them then! anyone know where I can get a good set of 16's with a wide width?

I'm stumped!

sorry! just been outside and checked and i have 215 /40 /16 fronts and 225/40/16 rears. but be careful as some tyre types dont have all the tyre sizes in the same tread pattern. my beams i am sorting will have 195/50/16 fronts and 225/45/16 .that is the closest i can get the toyo 888,s . these are on 7j wide

That`s the site of a friend or family of one of the members here. I can`t remember atm but those in black is just stunning!!!

Too bad they don`t have "9.. i would have liked 8 front and 9 in the back. Or 10:)

These too look spectacular: http://www.rotawheels.com/tarmac3.php

Does anyone know if there`s a pricelist somewhere?
