Well, after much faffing and fiddling around I may have come up with a solution.

Plan A was to swap the internals of the V6 tacho into the Mk1 clocks. Got VERY close, the mounting points line up, and with a bit off faffy around I could have got it to mount. Then I compared the actual postions of the revs and realised the new pointer would STILL spin round off the clock! (5k on the V6 dials is where 8k is on the MK1).

Plan B then involved building a custom dash - Mount the V6 tacho slap band in the middle of the dash, build everything else around it. That didn't get very far...

So Plan C was the "bugger it, lets by a stack" - thats until I found out the prices....

Plan D involved buying a Lotus elise set of clocks - however, prices were'nt that much below plan C!

then finally, plan E:

?55 plus carriage and VAT and have the tacho recalibrated - Bloody hell, why didn't I think of this first?

its a self build digi tach that can be set to work with any amount of cylinders and reads up to 9krpm in 100 rpm steps...im going to get one of these for lily to be used in conjunction with her digi dash.

Jaycars kits are top quality and superb building instructions, cheap as too! $62AUS is ?25
