had similar problems - I hacked the standoff's on the engine stand down.

Cheers guys,
did same as you jiff, luckily i did'nt take too much off, just enough clearance when engine mounted.

I did'nt get the crank bolt of before i removed the flywheel,
is there any way to get this off, or do i need to take it off the stand and put the flywheel back on??

can you not put 2 opposing bolts in the end of the crank and put a lever in between the two?

Did give it a try lodge but no joy, so tomorrow i'm gonna put the flywheel back on, so engine off the stand back on the crane, etc

they're done up very very tight - I found socket on extension bar, Lock up flywheel, hit extension bar with FBH. It's the shock that helps losen it.

Just to check, to undue the bolt it is the standard anti clockwise direction?
cheers

edit
got the bolt undone, flippin thought it was welded on
It is anticlockwise.
