3vz heads on a 1mz block?

Does anyone know if the 3vz heads will swap onto the 1mz block? That would be ideal for weight and keep the swap more reliable as you can use the obd1 wiring from the 3vz. Just a thought. Was wondering if anyone had ever tried it.

no they wont fit,i researched this last year...the gaskets are different,water jackets in the wrong place etc....i was looking into it because a 1mz block with 3vz heads would mean you could keep the 3vz ecu/dizzy etc but it wont work.If it was looking like an easy thing to do it would be worth it for the ally block but the heads just dont fit unfortunately.

To be honest its a lot of work to save 20kgs or so,plus 3vz rods are much beefier than 1mz anyway so in my opinion the 3vz is a best of all worlds engine anyway.
