got some fiesta front drop links today ?9 each, i cut them in half, threaded them and added a link nut like me and adamh did with the gear linkage. looks spot on and the good thing is when one joint wears out you can just screw another end on instead of replacing the whole thing so its half the price again!
i did this for the front and rear, sorry no pics as my camera is knackered

Thats a great idea, saved a fortune on toyota ones (even from motor factors)

Can you get the rears going the other way to straighten up the link?

you can but thats how the originals went. it does look crooked but its right, both of these links front and rear are fiesta front links

Er... just been checking out how to do my rear ARB and drop links and stumbled upon this...

Is that picture correct or should you cut the DL in half and re-weld... Lodge, I believe you have done your ARB and bits? What needs doing - I've got my turbo ARB, and the mounts - which ones do I use though, the turbo or Mk1 mounts? and do they need moving or anything?

Also will the Celica drop links, which I believe you used just hook straight up?

ash i used a 20mm rev 3 arb and the origonal bush 'U' brackets , but i brought new bushes from here:

http://www.needforspeed.co.uk/pages/sbv_pl.asp?Vehicle=UV___01&PartType=BUS04

i also made custom mounts to fit the bushes and housings on but this sint necessary for rev 1 mounts i think they fit straight on to the mk1 chasis rail etc. what size arb do you have?..

lodge has a rev 1 turbo bar which was 18mm iirc.. i swapped it with him ash.. it fits straight up, with the origonal turbo bushes etc dosent it alan?. hang your droplinks first attatch the arb to drop link ends, then swing arb up and see whats what ash.. it might fit nicely, wont matter if its not dead perfect angle wise it only levels one sdie to the other anti roll! orre drill & tap the mounting holes on the chasis rail if needed.

Excellent advice Ad - thanks mate. I didn't realise there were different width ARBs for starters!!! Think mine must be an 18 so will have a play and see what happens.
