I'm looking at getting a V6 from a scrap dealer, I'd rather break up a whole car but I'd be shot if I brought a scrapper home! lol :banghead:

Do we have a list of all the camry bits needed for the swap? I'll be using an N/A Mk2 gearbox & driveshafts unless a tubby one becomes available.

So you're taking the plunge then.... about time :) Good luck with it

lol We'll see how much it'll cost. The 4AGE in my Mk1's running well at the moment (touches every bit of wood, of the tree variety, in sight) but I'm not sure about the state of one of the crankshaft journals.[:( I'd like to get a V6 on the engine stand to rebuild.

Engine;
ECU;
Loom (unplugs at fuse box at the NSF, goes right through bulkhead to ECU.
COR (Dash hack - but may be able to use AW11 COR - Paul mentioned this I think)
Intermediate driveshaft
Downpipes
Camry expansion bottle and bracket (Not essential, but useful)

All you then need is ST185 driveshafts (not MK2 shafts) and suitable box.

don't even need the ECU if you plan on using a megasquirt :-)
Only problem is you gotta workout the megasquirt first.

Where have all the cheap breaker camrys gone lately, used to see loads but now they don't turn up anywhere near as often

That'd be a good one for me but I believe Paul's got his eye on it and as I said I've nowhere to break it.[:(

been saying it since megasquirt was launched, what it needs is a learning mode. So you hook up the sensors on your standard ecu, let megasquirt learn the map for a couple of weeks, then swap over to full megasquirt and refine it.

ahh but the V3 board comes with a prototype area set aside so it is highly possible this sort of thing could surface. maybe a permenant hookup to a laptop could help with this sort of thing as well.

if you use the mk2na box the mk2na shafts will fit straight into the mk1 hubs with no mods,it may be easier to use the na box on future mk1 v6 swaps after peebs revelations about how good his is.

Yeah you need the loom and v6 COR ,using MS is tricky as theres vsv's to switch open at various rpm etc for the ACIS and FPR....best stick to the stock ecu i think or things get tricky!

I plan on things getting tricky with mine, got quite a few ideas just trying to work them all out now, once I know exactly I may let a few of those ideas slip

Cheers all, shame you missed out on the Camry in London Paul. Nippon spares have an engine but I've not found out the price yet. Probably many dollars![:(

yeah i got outbid in the last seconds! basturds! i thought ?230 would easily buy that given it was sitting on ?100 until the last 8 mins,they go for less up here so thats probably why,it went for ?261 in the end.
