what have other people done with the cat? just removed the insides or bypassed the cat section by totally removing it?

Its a cast iron lump that will give you a hernia trying to lift so dump it and go decat downpipe which is loads lighter.

Most using the XS pipe.

it is a heavy lump, thats why i wanted it ditched really. wouldnt mind the stainless steel manifold aswell but its about ?180 so not for a while i think.

Don't think you need the manifold unless your going big power

no i just love the look of it. its stainless steel art!
also i dont see the point in making an awesome engine and attaching pig iron components to it. seems a shame.

I did a de-cat on my tubby , made little difference to power but gave it a funny sounding exhaust really hollow sounding and strange . When i put me ct20 on i put an extreme boost stainless 3inch job on it again made little difference to the power and the lambda sensor gets cold if ya not giving it some but the sound even with a standard exhaust is pretty good at high revs . If i was to do it again i would use a 2.5 inch one and make sure the lambda probe sits inside as it gets cold mine clogged up in about 2k so had to get handy with the welder. Oh and you'll get flames now and again if you do fast gearchange :believe:
