Hi all,

I've wanted to fit the V6 into the celica even before i bought it! I've read all of Pauls build threads more than once plus all the other threads.

I've just bought a 45k 95 Camry with 3vzfe up front.

So im gonna need celica wiring diagrams 3vzfe wiring guide etc.

Think im gonna go turbo flywheel if anyones got one ready to bolt on?

Anyway there we have it so far.

Been thinking about the swap etc and I'm going to try and keep the cruise control, so need to source a cruise control switch off a gen 7 Celica.

Ok even though the camry has only done 45k What do you think i should replace while its out?

I was thinking

Head gaskets
Timing belt
Water pump

Anything else i should swap?

Also where is the best place to buy the parts as the local motor factors cannot source the gaskets/water pimp.

Paul will say genuine totty only. Quite a few have used this set

Personally at 45k i wouldn't be touching it apart from junking the egr stuff and cleaning the throttle body abd intake plenum id just fit it and go.

If you are splitting it up port/polishing the heads is worthwhile.

Tend to agree with the above - It's low enough to leave as is; You'll have enough on your plate with getting the damn thing in - the last thing you need is to be another member of the "engine on a stand" club :smiliesign:

Ok i'll just stick a timing belt kit on then and tart it up.

Just dunno wether to fidanza, na flywheel or turbo flywheel.

Turbo flywheel and pressure plate anything else is just spending for no real gain.

Ok so i now need a turbo flywheel drilled ready to fit.

Ok the camry is home Wow! It pulls like a train!!

Anyway looking through paper work the timing belt was changed in 2012 at 25900 miles, its now done 45000 so i msy just check it and leave alone.

Your thoughts please??

i wouldn't personally bother changing it, i wouldn't have swapped it if it had been the original. there a non interference engine so a failed belt won't damage anything and it's rare for them to just give up without any warning you normally get a wurring or worn bearing sound for awhile

ok question time again.

whats the part no. for the flywheel bolts.

do i use the camry starter

is there a write up for de egr'ing

whats the best air filter to fit

will 2 pk paint be ok on the cam covers etc

one for Mr Woods, how did you adapt the power steering for the celica pump.

I'm sure i'll have more questions as i start.

Use the 3vz PS pump and make a new pipe from it to the rack, on my latest gen7 v6 project luckily the pipe will just work.

Ok started the Camry strip down by remiving exhaust system.

Rear manifold bolts undid ok both front bolts sheared :-( hopefully i can get the sheared stud out!

Drill the studs out completely, fit decent nuts and bolts. Much easier to manage.

Ive a spare front manifold if yours is beyond salvage. Id also replace your rear manifold with another front one the front ones flow better

Thomp1983, where will the front manifold place the exhaust at the rear?

Also I'm looking at air filters now,

what do people suggest?

using a front manifold at the rear just moves the downpipe more to one side it's no extra trouble if your fabbing your own downpipes anyway.

if you really want to get into making a proper exhaust ive a set of watercut manifold flanges here so you could make your own manifold too exactly how the exhaust chris posted was.

air filter you want the biggest cone or foam filter you can get that fits in the vent opening that has the same diameter as the rubber intake hose so theres no restriction in it, ive always like hks mushroom filters and used them on a lot of cars they come with different diameters and colours so you can choose what suits your build
