will 7strand 0.2mm cable be thick enough? as thats the thickest cable they got in maplins which they've got heathshrink for? prob need thicker for the starter and alternator wiring though i think?

also just going through the wiring guide can someone please confirm the starter wiring please!
1.battery live to the starter post.
2. wire from terminal to m2 connector.

do we leave the mk2 wire which goes from terminal to loom connected and splice off it to the m2 or do we literally connect this terminal straight into the m2 only?

0.2 wire? thats way too thin welly,i tell you what to do,chop up your old mk1 engine harness, theres loads of wire in that and most of it in the correct colours.

1.yep battery live to main starter post
2.splice it off....so the brown connector that goes on the starter solenoid branches off to the m2 and also remains connected to the mk2 engine harness,in other words just T the B/W m2 wire onto the wire that goes to the starter solenoid, this means there will be a B/W wire on that four pin plug in the boot that has a starter signal, and this is what we use for the COR and pin A11 STA on the ecu.

paul its 7 strand 0.2mm wire. which is 1.2mm in total. still too thin?

they also have 16 strand 0.2mm wire(3.2mm in total) but dont have the heatshrink for it.

t-connection then it is

im not sure about this 1.2mm business,it needs to be rated at least 5amp if that helps.
