quick thread to for everyone who is renovating the bodywork on there mr's you might like to know that ?30 mark 2 or 3 (cant remember which) fiesta arches fit the back arches and look the same! see my pics image 1 (although you have to use the passenger arch on the driver side and vice versa) cheaper than buying proper arches!! :rightonma

joe ive found the arch lip on fiestas a tad fat compared to the mk1,if you use mk1 corolla arches these have the correct lip,or datsun cherry n12 model arches are the same too, they really are identical in arch fatness, but all arches need a little fettling to fit....both arches retail at about £12 each.

Paul... what do you mean by a little fettering - would they require cutting and welding - or just a bit of gentle coersion?

Car needs a little more work to the right hand side after my little accident :(

Sponge, there's a place in Ashwell (A505) by the petrol station that specialises in MK1's, not sure of his prices though. His full address is on the MK1 Club web site. If you can't find it, I'll try and sort for you later.

Cheers Jasper, I will definitely be checking that out. I've fixed the panels enough to prevent rusting, but I want nice new ones when I upgrade my mk1 by 50%... colour of panels doesn't really matter as I may respray since scraping half the paint off the side... grrr

It's a pain because I think my whitey had received a nice fresh coat of paint before I acquired it - it shines (shined :(...) up far too nicely to have been the original 1989 paint!!

by fettling i mean a few slices along their width so that they can be bent into the exact arch shape....the radius of the corolla arches is only slightly different to the mk1.

Hmm - ok, cheers Paul

Jasper - I had a look on the Mk1 website and although I have a good idea of where it is - I can't actually find the details!!

Do you have the telephone number mate, or the URL of where the details are?

Thanks,

Ash
