Hello,

have problems mounting my OEM Airbox :(
Think must demount the black box, with the Red and clear hose. But what to do, with the open hose? Think the red one is Water, because it comes from water Access on engine

Here to Pictures, hope it helps :jump:

Greetings Michael

And sorry for my bad english :eusa_shifty:

Hello!

Can't see those pictures?

Most people remove the standard air box and the large plastic chamber that is in the corner of the engine bay.

The large charcoal cannister can also be removed as it is not required and does not connect to the 3VZ engine.

The smaller vacuum cannister made of metal that was removed with the 3VZ Engine you can either fit or remove.

We connect a loop of pipe instead.

Hope this helps.

Chris.

Hi,

That is the charcoal canister that was part of the original engine.

You do not need it, remove and bin!

I will take some pictures of my engine setup soon to show you what we do with the metal vacuum canister.

Hi,

I have never used a charcoal canister as we do not remove them from the Camry. The rules may be different in Germany but you can remove it and cap off the pipes.

You can not leave it open as it will suck air in.

Also i have copied your pictures so that they now work. I think the site you are using does not work with TB. Try Photobucket, its very easy!

Chris.

Here is where the charcoal canister sits in the standard Mk2 - I just remove it with the engine. Also you can remove the plastic resonator chamber in the corner:-

The Camry engine only needs a K&N style filter:-

The metal vacuum canister I also removed on the last couple of swaps and fitted a short loop of pipe:-

I find this works fine.
