I need over sized pistons for my 3SGE Mk1.5 project and toyota want over $700 for them.

can anyone tell me if these are over sized? what dose the "mark 1/2/3" bits mean??

As far as I know from ordering oversize pistons for my 3VZFE project the marks are only differences to accomodate tolerances on standard pistons sizes, those marks would be stamped on the block face beside each bore, you can ignore these in your case
If you are going oversize I imagine because of a rebore you will need to look for pistons sold as oversize, Ebay has loads pretty cheap but probably not in Aus, although I do remember seeing some forged ones for sale recently

tones of cheap forged turbo pistons. NO N/A ones :'( ive been searching for ages and if i cant get some my swap falls in a heap and ive already ahd the head reconditioned.

I know the 3s blocks are pretty similar, are the turbo pistons different from the n/a ones?
Also have you tried ACL pistons here in Oz, thats what I used and they where pretty cheap

Just had a look at the ACL catalogue and they list 3SGE pistons for Mr2

Ross and Wiseco would be worth a check too. I know they make pistons for 3sgte and 3sfe, can't hurt to check with them if they make a set for the 3sge.

I know that some of their US suppliers can do full rebuild kits (forged pistons, rings, wrist pins, full gasket set, cometic head gasket, all bearings plus timing belt) as a set for the 3sgte for around $900(us). I'd imagine 3sge pistons (if they can be obtained) to be a bit cheaper than that kind of bundle :smile:
