Right, bear with me........

Got the engine and box nearly ready to pucker up but we need to sort the steel pins (dowels) and drill one hole - I think!

Adam was kind enough to bring my attention to the hole drill but what's the best approach to the steel pins?

I was thinking of trying to remove and drill out the gearbox ones a bit so that the engine ones slot into them but Pat reckons grind them all off....

Thoughts anyone?

Chris. :)

the dowels just pull out mate - get some good grips on them and they should pop out

Had a go but those suckers are in there.

Bit of heat next and try again....

dont put too much heat on them - i didnt need to go that extreme they came out pretty easy to be fair - get some plus gas or something similar it may help.

Hello all,

In the finish i went with a suggestion Adam made - drill the back of the dowel (through the gearbox) and drift it out. Those suckers were in there tight but they eventually gave up!

Then i matched up the gearbox to the engine and figured out the hole that needed drilling:-
