after doing the deal with phil mrv6 for his engine package the last few months have been spent detailing and cleaning .the package consisted of 1mz with 13,000 miles approx rev 5 n/a box with driveshafts , stainless manifolds and rear baxk box - and a link g4 ecu along with the factory ecu . only thing i really kick myself for is not going for the supercharger that phil had on the motor when i went to veiw it but its gone now and i need to look foward im afraid. time to press on...

Heres the target car which is getting ready to receive a v6 in place of the 3sge.

when the car had been mapped , i had a long drive back to preston a lot of motorway ...the 2 felt great loads of smiles that day . the v6 just feels like it was made for the car . the 5th gear mod is well worth doing as it makes motorway cruising feel the way it should , nice discovery mr woods & co. heres the dyno resultshttp://img710.imageshack.us/img710/9098/dynoruntorque.jpg

Paul Woods
03-12-2011, 18:05
Stunning stuff, only thing i'd change is mount your wideband on the dash! It's pointless being in the boot mate, widebands are for watching your AFR's, unless you plan to drive with your lass in the boot shouting the readings out lol

tripod23
03-12-2011, 18:23
paul thats exacly what i had in mind it will give her something to do - and stop nagging me.

what i was thinking - is to try a run another gauge in the car maybe something that will look more stock than the blue gauge i have in the boot. but wasnt sure if that would be possible to run 2 gauges at the same time . i used the innovate lc-1 .

Paul Woods
03-12-2011, 18:49
Well if you really wanted you could mount the LC-1 digital display inside your clocks, replacing something like the voltage gauge which is a bit useless, might as well have your wideband there.

MRV6
03-12-2011, 20:21
Hi Si, it's turned out stunning mate. Like the ecu mount, looks the biz.

MRV6

Si are those figs flywheel???

tripod23
04-12-2011, 01:48
cheers phil mate ,im pleased as hell with your old engine package , only thing i didnt use was the exhaust back box as i had a brand fire new tubby exhaust which i threw on for the stock look from the rear . so its up for grabs if you know anyone who could make use of it.

im not sure about the figures pal , i had the car mapped back in june, ryan did tell me but i really cant remember. all i can say is the car feels pretty danm quick , and the sound is mental but in a good way , its the first time iv ever had a car with stand alone never mind having it mapped, so im not that well up on it.

paul , great idea ripping out the volt meter , only to replace it with the wideband gauge , i will give it the once over tomorrow. nice one fella

MRV6
04-12-2011, 09:19
Hi mate, I wished I'd have known I would of had that back box. Did you have to get the mid section altered to make it fit the tubby exhaust.

You told me the figs but I can't remember either, maybe drop Ryan a pm. Yes I couldn't believe the difference when I went standalone and had it mapped.

tripod23
04-12-2011, 11:02
morning phil the man, no i never touched the mid section mate that aas made at all.
To fit the tubby exhaust , i did need to alter the tubby exhaust pipe where it sweeps round in a half-ish circle , but it wasnt really that bad to do as the hacksaw and file did most of the work ha ha.
my n/a exhaust was well goosed but like i say the tubby exhaust had been bought right at the begining when i first decided to get into the whole v6 thingy. so on it went . i never even thought to ask you phil if you wanted it back before stuart made you new system...really sorry mate i wasnt thinking straight when the 2 was in bits - so was my head .

im going to pm ryan and ask him about these figures mate ok. you have me curious now.

MRV6
04-12-2011, 11:25

phil just had a reply from ryan ...he said - The figures which show the power vs torque are Flywheel power
is that good news or not .

Paul Woods
05-12-2011, 19:01
It's neither, it's normal news.

It means your 1mz is producing what it should be at the flywheel plus a few BHP's for the standalone.

tripod23
05-12-2011, 19:48
that will do for me mr woods.

tripod23
13-01-2013, 12:58
just thought i would update this build as to where i am upto with the project to date , i had to fit a cat to the vehicle , which i didnt really want to have to do but i was finding it very difficult to get an mot sorted so i went ahead and fitted one , i cut the cats inlets and outlets down so it would fit into the space , without disturbing the stainless manifold and outlet pipes which had been done at aas up north ,the rear box is a genuine toyota turbo box , which i plan on trying to get polished up if poss http://www.twobrutal.co.uk/forum/images/recovered/2013/01/150.jpg

next on the list was to build this bad boy , to get rid of the rust on all the suspension parts which were next on the list to get cleaned and painted . http://www.twobrutal.co.uk/forum/images/recovered/2013/01/151.jpg

this cabinet was made big enough to get the rear subframe in .

tripod23
13-01-2013, 13:18
heres the inside of the cabinet the hole in the far end was so i could pop the anti roll bars through and blast half then rotate it and do the other half . http://www.twobrutal.co.uk/forum/images/recovered/2013/01/152.jpg

Love the attention to detail with your car. This is something I have to do soon as my car sat outside for some years in storage here in Chicago...no car cover can save you from the elements of extreme heat and extreme cold/snow in the winter....how simple is it to take this car apart?
