First time posting a thread here, been on the Mr2oc board forever. Just curious what kind of hp so of you guys have in your mk1.5's. For those of you who don't read the Mr2oc board I just put down 417whp on a stock shortblock 3sgte in my mk1.5.

So what's everybody else running for horsepower??

My 1.5 has just breathing mods with a bit of boost on a hybrid turbo so nothing silly. I think user 'Toffer' has built engine, not sure of what power he is putting down. 417 whp is a fantasic figure, please post up some details/spec/pictures so we can all have a gander!

I think Toffer has over 400bhp on his, but not over pushed it yet ... it'll really go when it's done!

Everything except the tune was done by me. The motor was put in using mount adapters onto the stock mk1 motor mounts. The exhaust sofar is the limiting factor of the power, as the 2.5'' single section just doesn't seem to flow enough to raise the boost above 20psi on the top end. The turbo should flow upwards of 26psi at 7k rpm. I'm in the process of making a straight through 3'' exhaust purely for the track that should make more power.

Car is a ton of fun to drive, and shockingly will hook up 2nd gear on a smooth road.

I've said it before - this car is tasty as fup and tempted me to flirt with the idea of a 1.5. I'd be amazed if it wasn't absolutley ballistic on regular pump fuel, nevermind E85. Nice figures

I'm especially liking the clean looks - and envying your two (!) sets of nice wheels. Have you got adapters on the rear to stick with 4 stud?

Olly - check out tarmactrr's thread on the mr2oc.com :)

Loving it, great spec, great looking Mk1.. Thanks for sharing it with us.

The exhaust: well, this is one thing on my 1,5 that I have never liked, yours looks fantastic, could you share some further pictures/details of this?

Here's my 1.5:

The rear hubs are the stock hubs from the Mk1. They use the 96 LSD axles mated to the chico race works outer hubs. Fit was perfect.

I spy some sweet wheel arches on your car. I'd love to do that at some point, but I don't want to mess with the OEM body on the s/c car. I think if I had to do it all over again, I'd buy a n/a car to convert to the Mk1.5, and then I could do the wheel arches as you did and run huge rear tires.

My exhaust was my take on a Corvette C5 exhaust. It was built for my 4agze, hence the 2.5'' exhaust sections. The rear valliance on my car has been removed, thus making the rear look more open. If you have an exhaust that takes up most of the back end, then I think it looks good, but with a small straight through exhaust it looks a bit funky IMO.

Here are some pics of my exhaust build

This is the original made for the s/c It has 2.5'' resonator into dual 2.5'' magnaflow mufflers

Only thing I did to mate it to the mk1.5 is make a 3'' vband section with a transition into that 2.5'' resonator, and have it ceramic coated. If I had to do it over again I should have removed the 2.5'' resonator into a 3'' one with a good 3'' to dual 2.5'' transition.
