Hey guys,

I posted up my aw11's in the very early days of ownership and have since been through a few stages of development in getting the car sorted and making some decent power.

Apologies if this isn't the correct place for such talk! There isn't a 7agte section :hmm:

1988 Toyota MR2
7AGTE
Smallport head
7afe block
Pauter forged Rods
Rx7 550cc injectors
Doweled flywheel/crank
ST205 Celica Water to Air Intercooler + Bosch Pump + Subaru Exchanger
3" Stainless exhaust from downpipe
custom Evil_si exhaust manifold
TD05h turbo off Evo 4
2800lb pressure plate

Battery has been relocated to under the bonnet
Electronic Boost control
Link Electrosystems LEM G3 ECU
Running 20 PSI of boost

Jamex springs
Nolethane bushes all round
KYB adjustable shocks
Rear anti-sway bar
Celica front brakes
SW20 Rear brake calipers with AW11 FL front rotors
Hilux 1" Master Cylinder

When I bought the Car the body was in real nice condition, it's an 89 spec Jap import, build date is 12/88 but has the mirrors and taillight spoiler found on the last models. It also began life NA rather than SC so going to turbo was quite the power increase, not to mention the extra 200cc.

Unfortunately though the quality of the swap just wasn't the same as the condition of the car.

Started out looking like this:

I Started going about tidying the conversion up, and adding some of my own improvements.

Brakes:

Better Intercooler:

I weighed it:

Did away with the studid throttle bracket:

Since Wiring in the new ecu it now looks like this:

And does this:

Need some wider rims to staunch it up a bit next.

Nice done sir! Looks very neat. And 222kw witch fulll boost at 3500 rpm, must be a blast to drive. Any vids of this beastie in action?

No vids, I only ended up with the 222kw last week!
It's still using a C52 gearbox which I'm not very keen on destroying just yet as I drive this everyday. Will need to have a custom flywheel made if I decide to upgrade to the E52. I'm only a student with very little income so that could be some time before I can afford all the new bits required (clutch + gearbox + axles + mounts + flywheel). Most likely gonna need to find a manual GZE car to pilfer everything from

Looking good. I built a 7age for an old AE102 (Corolla GXI) as few years ago. Didn't last very long though(bottom end spat a con-rod due to a baring issue) had issues with oil presssure and flow around the engine.

Best I got out of the engine was 130BHP at the wheels on the dyno, and that was running like a dog.

Looks like a smart motor, making some nice power there as well!

This motor has excellent oil pressure, no issues on the dyno and runs fairly nicely, the only thing that makes it a bit difficult to drive day to day is the heavy clutch. Also as long as I'm gentle with the accelerator pedal everything is fine :shades:

Don't think thats going anywhere in a hurry

Yeh. I think you may have had a little bigger budget than I did :D ... those con rod were on my shopping list.

I really loved doing the engine build as it was a hybrid that not many people had done. At the time, I didn't have a lot of money to play with but if I were to do it again I think I would have mirrored what you have done... well I would have dumped it into a AE102 or AE92 man I love those cars. :inlove:
