just as a little helper for anyone wanting to fit the tubby rear struts on their 1.5 see the picture below.
this shows the requirements for fitting 1994 rev3 struts onto a 1987 mk1.
the bottom end bolts up without problems but the strut tops need modifying to take the thicker tubby bolts.

hmmm interesting. What do you think would be better in the back of a mk1.5, stock sw20 struts or aw11 struts w/ brand new jamex springs and kyb gymkhana "for circuit use only!" 4 way adjustables?

hey driftin welcome! well the way i see it is the mk2 struts are made to go with the 3s engine/box weight and are probably the closest you will get to a stock handling mk2 turbo but it leaves the problem of balancing the front struts to match the rear.....i had bilstein springs and kyb's all round and the set up was truly excellent and well balanced.

The bonus of the mk2 struts is they may come for free with your rear clip.

I have got hold on some whiteline turbo struts and springs, had koni and 30% stiffer springs last year. but I'm concerned that the turbo struts are too long, and too stiff. the mk1 is a lighter car than the mk2.
anyone?
