3sge into a mk1 wiring wows

Any one got any ideas whats wrong went to look at Lees car tonight after fixing a few earths it turned over and started but as soon as the key was released from start position it ran for a couple of seconds and died.
There was a strong smell of petrol but the plugs wern't wet.
Checked ECU on my car and thats ok short of undoing all the conections Lees made and rechecking everything I dont know unless anyone has had the same problem before?

check the injectors have constant 12v

When I checked that they didnt I think its going to be strip it all and start again oh dear looks like thermals are coming out its bloody cold in oldham

Check the circuit opening relay is supplying 12V to the fuel pump once the engine has started

( BTW it's not 'wows' - I think you mean 'woes' )

we tried bridging the pump so it ran full time as well
btw could think of other ways of spelling woes but might get sensored
