motor pull

http://210tuning.com/mr2/motorpull04.jpg
FYI: when i originally pulled the wheel off, i expected that fat s2000 wheel to bea heavy. i pulled it off with some "UMPH" and fell over. those bitches are light, even with tires.
some of our sockets
http://210tuning.com/mr2/motorpull06.jpg
eventually we realized we was gonna have to drain the coolant. this being san antonio and on the southside, we didnt give a fuck...

the wheel hub is off
http://210tuning.com/mr2/motorpull09.jpg
takin a break to think about what we is doing. FYI#2: none of us (me, my dad, and my cousin john) have ever pulled an "import" motor. we are use to pulling big american motors from big american classic muscle cars/trucks. a few bolts/wire and your done. not this one.

my pops trying to figure out how to get the chain through the hoist points..
http://210tuning.com/mr2/motorpull13.jpg
we realized the exhaust would be crushed if we didnt remove it first.
http://210tuning.com/mr2/motorpull15.jpg
the exhaust was a pain in the fucking ass. it was all rusted up and seriously look like a 2 year old welded it. for 30 minutes we thought it was welded to the cross member :facepalm . then i thought "who would weld exhaust to the crossmember?" then i looked at all the other work and realized it was possible. took us a bit but we figured out that it was hooked on to the crossmember by a make shift hook. confusing as fuck.
Jiggerig #1 : hook exhaust onto cross member but make it look like its welded somewheres. (no pics :( )
we eventually got the motor dropped onto a steel railed creeper i spent $30 on at autozone.
heres attempt #1 at pulling the body over the motor. realized this was seriously gonna fuck the bumper.

pic of the bay when we decided to rethink what we were doing.
http://210tuning.com/mr2/motorpull18.jpg
motor on the creeper, and the tie down strap shows our new idea for lifting the car off the motor.
http://210tuning.com/mr2/motorpull19.jpg
basically, we pulled the struts out and used the housings as a way to life the car.
heres a pic of the motor on the ground and compeltly out. shit was a pain in the ass and i didnt get any pics of us trying to get it out. just know it took almost an hour to get it out once it was ready.

Quite like Mk2 wingless. Flat olive paint sounds fun - Not tempted with matt black? Stealth bombers are us!
Any plans for the engine whilst it's out?

flat black is over done.
olive flat w/ a fresh coat of black on trim pieces should look good.
no big engine plans just a cleaanup, and color on the valve covers/intake.
