Or Datsun cherry N12 model 3 door rear arches are very similar to the corolla ones, i've used them to good effect in the past.

Thanks, I ordered a corner section from a boy on ebay. It was well made but one of the previous owners of my car had a go at repairing the arches and on the face of it it looked not to bad but I would have had to do a lot of work to get it to fit & I have not got round to playing with my welder yet. So I had my first go at fiberglassing taking a casting from the corner section I bought, and not wanting to blow my own trumpet I has turned out looking not to bad.

And it won't rust

looks good except mot examiners class it as a structual part of the car so I dont think they would like fiber glass if your local to manchester I dont mind giving you a couple of hours to weld the panel in for you
I've now got to get the other side done and paint the 1/4s the correct colour I painted the repaired bit in vw white as thats all I had at the time and I didnt want the new panels rusting.
As soon as ive got the body on the MR2 done im going to take a break from it while I finish the transplant in my golf cabby then consider what to slam in the little mr2

Is it not that it''s within 30cm of a structural point? Rather than actually being structural itself?

your right it is 30cm from a structual point I know my 944 was ok there because it was only single skinned but the mr2 has inner sill some other section inside and then the outer i'd not like to take the chance myself

Well that might be bad darts, I’ll nip down to the guy that dose my MOT’s and see what he thinks. The MOT isn’t due until November so I’ll have a bit of time to sort it out if need be.

And after me being all pleased with mysef.

Thanks for the offer I if I was closer I would jump at it but I’m 400 miles away in North East Scotland.

I’ll let you know how I get on.

Shame get loads of practice in before you weld the car up on some scrap metal when I get round to doing the other side I will take some photos step by step altho I think Paul Woods has done one somewhere I mist get my front bumper repainted next because I jet washed the car and all the dammed paint flew off

Ouch I had one of those magnetic trays for doing the engine and some bit of metal filling got on the rubber side of the magnet, and it was so strong had to slide it off the car and left a sodding scratch on me boot grrrr.
