View Full Version : Unused connector - what's it for?

Had a bit of a accident.

On a 1.5 the rev 2 engine has a connector that isn't used. Evidently it's been rubbing on the driveshaft and then has been ripped off completely.

The car is misfiring at the moment and it may / may not be due the bare ends of these wires.

Here's the connector. It's a grey round two pin plug with a blue with white stripe wire and a blue with black stripe wire. There is a short piece of grey plastic tubing about 3" long and then into some black tubing about 12" long.

Two questions:

1) What's this connector for?
2) Where does it plug into the loom? I can't see where it's been pulled out from.

Thats not the round plug for the alternator is it?

Looks like the gearbox reverse light plug to me.

Edit:
Scratch that, its nothing like that. Have found a plug like that on my loose loom though.
