Ive got something playing in my head.. Did anyone ever put the exhaust through the boot and out throught the rear light panel (on a sw20)? Looking something like this:

Im also looking in to a scuderia type defuser on the rear, anyone know of any sw20's driving around with a similar setup?

It would be really cool to get them in the center panel and get a big difuser but theres a problem with the space, because where would the silencers go? The diffuser will take up a lot of room under the car so i dont think it can be done.. any thoughts on this? Oh and theres one more problem.. safety.. i think here in holland its probably going to be illegal to mount them high up, for the safety of pedestrians and all that..

Bye, bye boot but yes, definitely doable.

boot is already housing an ic and soon 2 turbos so thats not really an issue. Just thinking about the space needed to fab a diffuser, i dont think theres enough space fo the silencer to fit under the boot. But then again ive never seen a mr2 with a diffuser...

Just checked out ebay and theres not a lot of universal diffusers available, and most are carbon fiber, and therefore expensive.. So they need to be fabbed.

I've been in one - my mate has a F430 convertible - and I've driven it a few times! So *tongues* :)

As for my car, NO! NO MORE CHANGES. I just want the f'kin thing back now!!!

Funny to see this, I'm looking to do this on my MK1.

I'm thinking of a square number plate, moving the lights nearer to the center, and then the exhaust tips coming out from where the lights are now.

You'd have to be careful moving lights; Construction and use regs mean that they're where are they are for more than just aesthetics.

I agree, theres no way you can just change the lights as you please. I also think placing the exhaust higher is a violation but im looking it to that.

i would hazard a guess it cant be higher than the top of the rear bumper..

aha, so we remove the bumper and put a 1 meter high diffuser on it

Just send an email to the RDW (government vehicle department) about this, they should reply within 5 days, then ill know something more. This is offcourse based on dutch traffic laws so someone is going to have to do the same on your side of the pond.
