Ladies and gentlemen, i'd first like to thank the clumsy idiot who was unable to see a 600 sportsbike for funding my project, and dedicate it to my left leg. Anyway, who needs to run in the modern age? I give you....the internal combustion engine, negating the need for functional ankles!! I don't know if that was the pic you sent me, Paul, but it somehow looks shit hotter there! A lot of people have demonstrated considerable scepticism regarding the wisdom of spending a significant amount of money on a car worth about a grand. Their doubts will be dispelled....

Oh and common??? Two of them????

haha thought it was you mate! How you doing? When you picking it up mate? If its after the 20th this month i wouldnt mind having a look around it when i pick mine up mate ;)

Where did you source the lsd box?

have a look at some of the online scrappers dude or jap import engines on fleabay.

And spending quite a lot on a motor that is only worth a grand who hasn't done that before, it's only worth wot u think it's worth to some one else it could be worth a fiver and a pack of hob nobs or a couple of grand if they didn't want to do all that work them selves.

personally i would like a gt4 v6 supercharged conversion or a modern celica converted to v6 supercharged.

Wise words snowtigger! Although if it could be swapped for a packet of hobnobs then from what I hear, Paul would have already chopped it in....
Craig! Hi mate. Bet you're having kittens over getting your motor back....make sure you update me with a full report on the driving experience, just so I can build my anticipation! After a lot of research, I can confirm that AFAIK, there are no celicas with an LSD. Hence the LSD is out of the gearbox on a Mark 3 uk MR2, and it has been prised into the 202 gearbox (which is apparently better than the 182 gearbox) with Paul's magic Crowbar of Ingenuity. Had to buy two gearboxes, but hey, you can't take it with you....

Oh and plan on picking it up week beginning 23rd so it'll still be there.... Help yourself, and have a quick blat round the yard if ya like, but bend it and mend it!!!!

LSD was an ultra-expensive option on some import ST202's, very rare however.

It was a standard fit to the last of the ST202's (Beams motors), but still rare :)

Great work Paul & Co.

So basically it follows the same pattern of production as the sw20 (the last ones having LSD also) .... interesting

The old Jap imports also had the E-series gearbox though, which isn't so hard to get an LSD for, and because of the super strut suspension, the E series boxes don't just swap in easily either, but certainly nice if you've got one to start with.

+1
I wanted to put in the details of a V6 swap into an AT200 Celica when I get that far on my swap, but there's no where neat to put it.

was thinkin rear wheel drive coupe celica fast back with supra or v6 running gear twinturbo but will have to wait till the 2 is done .

We shall have to do a poll me thinks for oddball converted jap motors.

Either that or talk to the short one.

Paul Woods

You know how it is.... you wait all day for one....

..... and then TWO come along at once!

Indeed, because the 1MZ is a non return fuel rail we install the fuel pressure regulator to keep things metered. :)
