we have been offered a swap.a 1990 mazda rx7 turbo convertible in great condition with low mileage.the pictures seem to indicate its pretty much mint.
i know nothing about mazda`s but it seems too good to be true.any thoughts ?

hmmm not sure.. that would be the rx7 with rotary 'henry wankel' engine?.. be it a 1.3/4 or 1.7 turbo?.. ive heard they want rebuilding at 125k.. check the book value out, probably worth as much as the mr2, i'd say they are both nice sports cars worthy of eachother

I was told they need a major rebuild every 40k miles or something... like the rotors tips needed something doing. This was by another mr2 owner tho so I don't know how accurate that is! Ask on the rx forums??

it is about 40 k trhe rotor tips need changing and if you get your tips from this country theyl cost you ?50 each and you need 6 of them plus another 300 for a gasket set plus if your taking it apart you might aswell change the side seals 12 of those plus clips and other things i know believe me ive done it but ive got to be honest i do love the rx7 beautiful cars and a beautiful engine when running right would that still be the wedge shape then kev or the efine` shape if you do go for it and need parts let me know and ill sort out some web addys for you like mazdatricks

They are top cars, but too "Retro" if there's not money to throw at it.

I'd Aviod, especially at 14-18 MPG
