Hey guys, I just started on my 3vz swap a little over a month ago and just wanted to chart my progress here (as well as get help ;) ) I live in the states as you might guess from the pics.

Heres the 3vz I picked up from tigerjapanese

I have also decided in order to motivate myself that I would engage in a friendly race to see who can finish first.

Me....?

Now its all been fine up until this point. Here is where I am stuck:

1.) fuel line

The fuel hose was cut, and I tried to take it off completely but some bits and pieces are stuck in the barb so I can't fit on a new hose. I did some searching and saw that Mr. Woods advocated:

yeah we use an 8mm airline hose joiner....its barbed on each end and very secure.

Here are the pics of the problem:

2.) Coolant hose
http://img412.imageshack.us/img412/5652/v6coolantlineqm9.jpg
What did you guys use to get the coolant hose to reach to the V6 coolant neck?

3.) Wiring
I had someone do my wiring, but some of the wires came undone while putting the harness on.

Sorry if I made up some terms like (positive coupler) I'm not sure what its actually called.

I really want to get my swap finished because...well...the house that I pictured next to me, its already completely finished! :hidesbehi

you are racing your build against a house build next door.....lol quality.

on the fuel hose just remove the outer sheath on the pipe and double jubilee clip your fuel hose onto the pipe, push it as far on as it will go.

Im sorry i cant make sense of your wiring at all,i need clearer pics to be sure on that.

I'm going to be working on the car this weekend, and ill take better pics with a camera instead of a phone. I'll snap some pics of the house thats beating me.

Beaten in a race by a house, that's a new one on me too!

As woodsy says, the outer bit on the fuel line needs cutting off, its a bit of a faff but some gentle work with a hacksaw gets rid of it.

The coolant hose is something that gets different interpretations from all of us. I think Paul takes it down between the block and the firewall. I took mine in the route of your drawing, just using some hard pipe and cut up bits of the MR2 and Camry hosing (90deg bends)

You can just about see it here.

Aye, Mk2's go off, round the driver's side of the alternator.

Mk1's we tend to go the other side of the alternator and straight(ish) down.

Either way is fine as long as it's secure.

"Random very small hoses coming from front intake manifold"
those go to the ACIS canister.

have you located the fuel rails? where the injectors are stuck into? if you locate the fuel rails you can follow those to the fuel lines. The feed line you are searching for is directly connected to the end of one of the fuel rails and should go directly to the fuel filter.

A lot of the plugs you dont need. But whoever did your wiring should have cleaned it up a lot more. Most of the plugs you dont need, but on a lot of them you need the wires that they connect to.

I think I found it. The other fuel line goes in here, and this is where you use the 3/8" barb to screw into the fuel filter and then the other end you attach the hose which goes to the V6.

Ok, did alota work on it.

Got the fuel/coolant lines finished. I used the 5s fuel line+3/8" brass barb+random fuel line. Since both ends were crimped I figured that they would match. I'll double check if I have the send/recieve lines mixed up.

I have a few questions regarding these 3 plugs attached to the throttle body, anyone know what connects into them?
Plugs 1 & 2:

Plug 3:

Heres the 1 connector I haven't found a home for:

Also, there are 2 connectors that are by the alternator that I can't figure out where they go:

Quick question, anyone have pics of where you mount the coil/ignitor to on the chassis? I searched and found it goes on the strut tower, but can't figure out how.

what i did was make a hybrid of the 3sgte one and the camry one. But that requires a welder.

Thanks, I found it and i might go that route.

I thought the bracket actually fit into some of the holes in the Pass. side strut tower?

Probably worth starting your own build thread in the V6 section now Nelson

Then ask away and we'll be happy to help.

Cheers,

Owen.
