i was just wondering what the actual parts are that are needed for a v6 swap? and what are the diffculties involved in turbo charging it what extra parts upgrades are needed? i'm not familiar with a v6 part make-up so basics would be great!

Engine, gearbox, clutch, flywheel, driver's side mount, paint, spit and polish.

Turbo you'll not need to uprate the internals (3VZ am assuming) unless you're going big power.

Same as your 1.5 basically Adam, goes straight in on the new mounts, gearbox cables will need adjusted, firewall will need to be moved slightly, bit of induction tomfoolery and you're offski.

knowwhatcha mean in general so here go's: what about in particular the driveshafts? and gearbox? what are they..

and why do the 3vzfe keep blowing the gaskets?

are there any forged internals available or are there any similar pistons we can fit in with a fbh? anyone know any similar pistons and rods from a forced inducy engine like supercharger even?, wha are we looking at dimensionally?..

87.5 dia x 82 stroke

anything close?, oversized 3sgte is close no..

E153 and compatible shafts I'd say.

If you're going big power then aye, tubby box might be best.

The 3VZ only blows HG's in the Camry's really, think it's down to crap thermostat design causing them to pop, folk don't notice and cook it.

It's the same as the 1.5 Adam, tubby inners and ST165 outers, supported shaft etc.

The only difference from 1.5-1.6 is the lack of turbo, which you're adding in again lol

thats a pr of oj 0220/30 and some turbo shafts right?

what do you do with the supported shaft bearing mount on the 3vz block ?

Hi Adam the gearbox/shaft discussions are on here somewhere. I used a tubby box with its LH stub shaft(side gear shaft) and the Camry3vzfe supported shaft with ST165front driveshafts (outers) which fit the Mk1 hubs.
The other option IIRC is to use the full tubby driveshaft set but changing the outerCVs to fit Mk1 hubs. This option may entail a mod to enable the tubby supported shaft to sit correctly in the 3vzfe bkt I think.
The two options sit the engine 10-15mm laterally different.

ok so heres what i have, i think:

2.0L n/a gearbox with possibly a lsd - quote: "jiff was sold it as a lsd one but he wasnt so sure!"

a toda 2.0L n/a flywheel with uprated cover & sintered plate. i think.

and a 3vzfe.

I was wondering If the n/a box posed any different problems with the driveshafts?

I have not heard of an N/A box being fitted with LSD as standard (someone please correct me if i am wrong). Although it may have had one done aftermarket like! But unlikely sorry, N/A 2.0 power doesn't really need it.

You can fit a LSD from the mk3 into the na box, as paul and oddball (Gary) have done.

I believe if you are using the NAbox you also use the NA shafts. Is this a Mk1 orMk2 that you are putting the V6 in?

Late N/A boxes, LSD was an option, we jus fitted one to Mark's car which he got from GTSChris. Rev 5 i think it was.
