hi mate, welcome.

www.solaraguy.org is the best place to get a hold of one. Expect to pay through the noise. Around £2k plus shipping.

Christ, they're getting even more expensive now.

What's a rotrex, about 1K? Then say another 500 for bits, or is that way off?

Am talking low pressures here, not including standalones etc.

What gains would I expect to get?
Also would power can you get from doing some head work and possibly ecu/remap?
And is there anything else I could do?
Cheers.

That's the right shape.

You'll need at minimum a custom intake plenum fabbed up, a belt to drive the thing and a custom ISCV.

Doing it right to get a fair bit out of it add bigger injectors, a standalone of your choice and some aggressive headwork.

Getting the most of it, add upgraded internals and then you can run more boost.

Ghetto stylee i'd say stick to low pressures and you'll get circa 300bhp.

Add any type of FI and get a standalone or go bang.

Rotrex needs to be attacked! It's a definate source of power.

Would a setup like this be feasable on the 3VZ?

Or with a charge cooler fitted

Could be ... that's a centrifugal style charger. Rotrex is your friend :)

:P I think the ones in the photos are Vortech, not one I've heard of before.

Vortech has came up before, that's what Lee was trying to get Paul to fit to his 2 but it was way too big in physical size.

Like that idea of the driven bar across the engine to put it where u need it, never even though of that.

Yeah, I believe the Rotrex units are little more compact

i have been searching high and low for a supercharger drive shaft that would run across the engine but the only place i can find something even close is rippmods and at their prices a trd unit is cheaper. still looking though...

Mount a Rotrex on the crank pulley side and use a 180 degree pipe into a custom plenum :P
