got a nasty suprise this morning!

i've made my self a battery tray and decided to put it on the car this morning. i took out the lining from the frunk and found a nasty rust patch. Seems as if water had been getting into the frunk, and then was collecting in the insulating material beneath the lining. Lining was dry on top, but underneath was damp!

how would i go about sorting this out?

that looks pretty normal for an 18 year old mk1,cut it all out and weld a patch in,or if you find a good section in a scrapper chop that out.

looks familiar :-k , i'll be doing the same, mine has collected alot od dust and dirt in there too, the dirt hold ze moisture!
