Im looking at getting some tyres for my future Mk 1.5, I see the Toyo Proxes T1-R look quite good and have some fantastic specificatios..

Prices are something that baffle me.. if the T1-R proxes are so good why are they only £57.00 per tyre? I pay like £48.50 for crappy tyres for my 206..

Anyway to get to the point, my dads best mate is a manager of the local hi-q and has been for like 25 years so can normally get mega discount..except they dont supply Toyo tyres.. his suggestion was to go with the Dunlop SP Sport 9000 MFS @ £115.00 / tire without discount..

Any suggestions fellas? Dunlop or Toyo.. ?

How does the Dunlop compare WITH discount? To be honest, the toyos are good.

Well my Sister drives a Mini Cooper, the list price for the 205/45/R17 Pirelli Run Flats are £181.00, he sorted them for £110.00.. So the discount could be tasty..but on the other hand he might not have as much leeway on the Dunlops Im not sure

If that's the case, I'd probably go for the Toyo's and get his place to fit them :P

I have mostly driven the Dunlop SP9000 tires. Like them very much. They are especially good in the wet and they look good too. Seems the grip of the Toyo Proxes T1-R are similar to the Dunlop on dry surface, but a litlle less on wet. The difference is slim though...
