its coming out of the mech sender, from the gearbox

yeah but thinking about it now it used the abs system to 'read' wheel rotation..
really no idea what your wire does, can really only be the speedo sender wire to the ecu..the dash getting its reading via the mech sender..
maybe at one point there was a crossover between mech clocks and electrical and they solved it by having a sender that handles both..!!
in truth though i have no clue what it could be for..

Isn't that earth strp already attached to the gearbox, if so then the loose end needs to be attached to the chassis

And if that's the one i think it is, then it might not be connected on Mr Sherry's.

Infact no, that's the rear of the gearbox. Darnit.

You don't have to worry about the speed sensor plug
just tape it up and put it out of the way
You do need the speed signal from the
dash to the ECU on a "AW11 this is a purple white wire"
needs to join up with the speed in wire on the ECU
earth wire (might be the earth common for the ECU)
if its for the ECU then will need to be bolted to the block or gear box
make sure that the mating faces are clean and grease free.

Jus re-read that and am sure it's not something we checked, spotted the gearbox connection but then that went into the loom and dissappeared, am assuming this is where it comes out.

Where does that earth attach to on the chassis then?

Lol, thoe scables are the least of my worries now, for some unknown reason the car wont start, it just clicks when i try...... and i screwed up putting the passenger drive shaft in and now its leaking oil 2 weeks afterwards... >.<

Cheers,

If you've not connected that thick cable to the chassis, then you won't be able to start the car, because that thick cable is the starter's earth, hence the clicking.

Olber - the cable bolts near the N/S chassis leg on the mk2.

Oh......damn i hope i didnt burn somthing out by it drawing its earth through somthing else like a random 1mm wire in a bundle if 50 :freak3: Poof and my wiring loom goes up in smoke :P
