Is the front of the bonnet at the botttom of the pic? If so, then the vent will work better the other way around. You'll be creating loads of drag like that.

I'm trying to go for a little drag on the car, in exchange for downforce. I'm curently having a mk1.5 swap done on my MR2. I think the drag will not be so much, after body filler is added to make the lines not so harsh.

I'm in an auto collision program for a college, it was eather try this idea out or work on john deer parts lol.

Hmmm, i dunno. usualy the best way of getting more down force is a front lip

best way to find out, is get the car back after completing the hood. And then find a nice long straight away :driving:

How's it going to make downforce? You can make downforce either by forcing air upwards (e.g. Nik's bonnet/hood, or a splitter angled up), or with an aerofoil (curved underneath and flat on top) like an upside-down aeroplane wing.
What you've created (i think) is a drag device, if left open the air goes in an swirls around inside the frunk, if left closed air goes up over the windscreen like normal...

:jump: This was my idea I needed to do somthing with it. So I will see if it works when i get the car back from the shop. I have to work on test welds before end of quarter. So I will send updated phots when posible.:jump:

i would also agree with tom you are going to create drag

have a look at this if mk1 aerodynamics interest you

Thanks for that link I really enjoyed it, since posting at first I have completly welded everything including grinding the welds down. I apriciate the feedback and relize it probly wont work as well as I hoped. But I still have to finish it for a grade for my automotive collision program. And if it dose nothing but cause drag it will make drag look nice atleast lol.
