Get asked this question quite a lot and IMO it does change it a lot, ruin it maybe maybe not, i'm sure i would have been faster in this vid http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zF5qkkMprDk If i still had the 4age in there. You can see how that weight in the rear dominates the handling

I dont think most people here are planning to drive them on grass lol

i dont think it changes it by much at all,ive driven more 1.5's than anyone and they feel pretty much the same as a 4age engined car.

The extra weight is situated where the centre of gravity is,thats the beauty of mr2's in that they are MID engined, weight is not an issue.

To be honest with you judging a 1.5's handling ability on wet grass with road tyres is not really a fair test,or a test at all come to think of it.

This would be a far more accurate reflection of how a mk1 is affected by a 3s-gte http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LuBTd_O8O44

yeah your right its probably more the setup (stiff rear ARB springs etc)
I'd enter more tarmac events if the club held them but its mostly gravel or grass.
This http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sHNnfk5NWJI taught me its not a good idea to do autocross when you've got rally cars ripping up the surface.

I'm not 100% sure about the weight distribution with the 4age, but with a 3sgte and rearmount IC I have 480kg's in the front, and 680 kg's in the rear.
That's 58.6% in the rear and 41.4% in the front....

That's a big difference, but I hope to change the distribution now. With adjusting springs and removing the rear mount ic...

For reference my lardy T-Bar Supercharger (which is standard apart from battery in the frunk and loads of loads of soundproofing in the cabin) weighs 1160kgs with 1/2 a tank of fuel. That's 500kgs on the front and 660kgs on the rear which equates to: 43% front / 57% rear.

So we are only talking about a couple of percent shift in weight from a supercharger to a mk1.5

I thought it would be close but not that close. Good news

my weight distribution with battery in frunk, w/a intercooler (with front mounted radiator) and no rear spoiler is 42.9/57.1% (458.5/610kg)
