I have been looking into the possibility of putting a 2zz + 6sp into a mk1 for ages. And now only just getting the funds in place to be able to consider it realistically (until another un-forseen financial drain appears!!).

Do any of you guys know of a decent (and cheap) breakers yard, hopefully in south eastish england? I am really after engine and as much ancilliaries (ignition system, ecu, etc) as possible for as little money as possible, ha ha.

And so the long term goal of having a 1.8 6sp (and eventually supercharged) mk1 begins.............it looked into it ages ago but had so sell mk1 due to being poor. That is now changing and now seeing what I can do.

I always used to use Detling breakers - by the aerodrome off the A249 (by the county showground)... they were the only place that let me have full roam of the place, just doing what I wanted...!
