Pulled out my seat yesterday and there was a box underneth of it.
Its black, has a speaker on it and wired up like it looks OEM?

is that the toyota car alarm?

If, so can i eliminate it?

the "ultra rare (according to most ebay sellers lol)" standard 15watt (Ithink that was the rating anywho) sub and is a ple of crap TBH! think they ditched it in the 1b as never sen one in any of my 1bs but my 1a had it till it got stripped for resto then it didnt have it no more! Nice to have for originality sake but no good for real use IMHO. The wiring for it is under the seat in all cars i believe though (well MK1s not every car ever made)

Yep Sam is right. Its not in the 1b altho the wiring is there. Complete crap.

Hey Paff - if the wiring's there, does that mean you can wire up a decent aftermarket one straight from the standard wiring??

You could do altho the wiring is not the greatest quality anyway and my sub is in completly the wrong place with its own wiring anyway. You'd def be better off going complete aftermarket.

Altho if you want a go at using it take the drivers seat out and the connector sits in the middle of the floor just behind the raised section for the front seat mounts. It may be hidden under the carpet if you cant sdee it as for some reason the cutout wasn't always in the carpet

What year is the mk1b? IVe ehard that when there changed it over in early 87 cars come with parts from boths Generations in some cases.

Tis true what Zip said, may be due to a crossover year.

Or seen as the wiring is there someone may have bought an OEM one and put it in there. have seen people buying them on ebay even tho they are crap

It's an E reg, 88 i believe.

Probably a cross over cos that would explain the smaller flywheel and clutch combo.
