How much harder would it be to install a 5vz-fe over a 3vz-fe. They are a little a pricier then the 3vz-fe's, but over here they will have less milage and the TRD SC is easier to find.

I don't think the TRD SC will mount in the MR2 mate - the SC sits over the front bank of the V rather than the back like the 3VZ.

That aside, I don't think the 5VZ is too much more difficult - if any! Hop to the MR2 Forums at http://www.mr2.com/forums/mk-2-v6/

They have some 5VZ installs going on out there as we speak.

Well there goes that idea then. For the price of the lower milage 5vz-fe, I could build up the 3vz-fe for boost.

Yep. There's plenty of stuff out there now. Be careful though, some people are ridiculously expensive on MR2 V6's - if I were you, I'd contact Johnny Riglietti - aka Weasy2K on MR2 Board.

What he doesn't know isn't worth knowing :)

My only thing about going turbo on a 3vz, was I didn't want to give up the rear trunk if possible.

is this going into a mk1 or a mk2?

You can mount one over the gearbox. Just makes the pipework a smidge longer :)

shiter isnt it 5vz big power but expensive 3vz not bad power but cheap as chips 1mz still expensive and awfull obd2 system alloy yes lighter yes power hmm v8 rover blocks were alloy they can produce 500 ish bhp any more and bang not so keen on alloy engines warping and overheating and melting thats why the good old usa blokes like the cast iron engines for running big hp more tolerant only probs on 3vz and 5 head gaskets alloy heads and iron blockes dont mix well.

The 5VZ and 3VZ situation over in the states is the opposite to here. 5VZ is common as Woodsy over there

MK2, and yes the 5vz is pretty common(but still pricey). Hell I've seen more then a few 1gr-fe's on ebay for about the same price as the 5vz.
