I've been thing that i get really crap MPG - then i realised the last time i put perol in my car was last december and it was about 76p a litre and since getting back on the road its been near a quid.
I think its best to measure using how much you get to a litre / gallon.
I'll post tomorrow when I check my petrol receipt

an engine builder once said to a guy on the phone if u give a shit about mpg then you are buying the wrong engine for the wrong purpose go and buy a f**king prius .but i would like to find out how much mpg a v6 300 bhp car does but from reading on here its more smiles per gallon.

Paff's MK1 V6 conversion does better mpg (when not spanked) than my Mk1SC with big pulley; so if you have a light right foot it's more economical. If however you let the noise get the better of you and press the pedal nearest the door then all bets are off :slap:

Owen.

Owens right on that one, plodding along there is a small advantage over the SC. Not much but a little. but I have trouble getting that as I like noise :)

Paff you could never work out your real MPG figures anyway as most of the time it sounds like your back wheels are just spinning from 1st to 3rd gear with very little forward movement so dont rekon your figures would be vey accurate, also rekon your tyres per mile could be close to ;)

Mk1 SC with big pulley

Best = 320 miles to a tankful
Worst = 79 miles to a tankful ( Oulton Park :) )

I've been getting about 25 MPG

That's a mixture of motorway and London driving.
Lots of cruising with a bit of high revving action thrown in.

Actually Sam, it does move forward while spinning the wheels, or sideways sometimes :)

I have worked out I'm getting about 3 tyres per mile :)
