Im not sure where to put this so i stick it here, Im starting with a company doing arch rolling.

Based in irvine, but its a mobile service, will travel 100 miles or so if there are 2 or 3 people in the same area wanting it done ;)

How do you do it chief? Is it a case of cutting the arch into flaps, bending them out and then putting on new sheets of metal over the top and repainting?

How much do they enlarge by?

Or is this just for inner arch rolling?

Its easier than that mate, you use a special tool, it bolts onto your hub, a nylon roller pressess against your inner arch, you heat the area with a heat gun to try and prevent the paint cracking, and put the roller back and forth, over, and over again, lengthening the tool little by little to push the arch out.
The inside is then coated with seam sealer to prevent rust ( again :idea: )
It takes a good few hours to do it right, but in the end it gives a good flare to cover wider wheels, and no more scrubbing on full lock :thumbsup:

ive seen guys do arch rolling with scaffolding poles and baseball bats, not that id recomend it on your pride and joy, but seen it done plenty on track cars

You might be able to fit 18's under the arches, i would really need to take a look at them :wave:

And as for the scaffolding pole and baseball bat idea, yeah people do that, but if you want to keep your arches in good condition i wouldnt recommend it :snooty:

you might fit 18's under the arches if you really wanted altho you may have problems with the clearance on the spring seats.

I rekon they may fit on the back fairly well given a little work but you would definatly loose full lock on the steering.


I find with the 17's its more the inside of the arch not the lip that contacts.

Nothing is impossible but I don't rekon 18's on a mk1 would really be a wise thing to try and do.

95% intresting performance builds now, not a lexus light or spinner hubcap in sight... and you'v gota respect them for the 3S-GTE RWD yaris build that was on display at this years Rally Day! lol

I need some people who want there arches rolled for this weekend, guys from the glasgow - edinburgh area. As me and another guy are doing jobs to get me started with the company.

The price is 90 quid for a set of 4 arches ( normally 130)

We need good condition ( no filler or crummy repair jobs :careful: ) arches, from any cars you have, bmw's and golfs are welcome.
