well. I'm knackered. That's been a real hard weekend. Engine out, gearbox off, floor covered in oil. Then the garage door blew shut and smashed both panes of glass out! DOH!
Good feeling getting it out tho ain't it.
That's Jim i'm talking to, not Paul lol
yeh it's decent. Just need to know EXACTLY what I can take off it now!! Does anyone have any decent reference photos for what a completed V6 looks like ready for the MR2.
Oh, also the only flywheel I've ever pulled is an A-series. Does the auto flywheel just sit on the crank? I.e. is it just a tapered crank.
no flywheel as such jim, just a flexplate with ringear on it,it all just unbolts,no tapers....although i cant tell you how to remove the torque convertor, thats your right of passage initiation ceremony :)
Something tells me it will involve some of this..
Got the engine out eventually, don't need me a hoist... ;)
found a use for all the petrol that was in the tank :)
Had me going there for a second. lol
What you need from the Camry is pretty much what it comes out with but you can scrap the air con/power steering pump.
You need the charcoal cannister, black fuel filter shaped can from under the battery.
Once you've taken the loom off it all becomes pretty clear.
You'll need the tacho unit thingy out the camry aswell mind, that should sort your tachometer to read correctly.
Can't think of much else but i'll find a picture for ya.
