V6 manifold to back box exhaust

righto...wanna get the exhuast re-done as the flexi section keeps breaking and want a decent Y piece in there, so thought about getting a couple of stainless steel flanges lazer cut ( for the manifolds ) and re-doing the downpipes from the manifold all the way to the back box. Seen another dude on here from Canada had his exhuasts made from stainless steel and looked tip top !

just had a look thru demon tweeks for the bits, Y piece, flexi section, a few bends and straights and the bits are looking like £150-£200. so would it be a better bet to take it to an exhaust place that specialises in this type of thing and get them to make the whole thing up?

any of yous lot had this done and how much stirlings are involved?

also, what size pipes would be best, 1.75, 2, 2.5 inch?

i was planning on getting the downpipes how i wanted them, spot welding them in place and taking the whole lot to a chap near-by who does stainless steel welding ( as my welding is poo poo poo !! !) and getting him to weld the whole lot so its all nice. he not an automotive welder, but does stainless all day long.

    any advise chaps???

    arrrr cool !!

have heard that the pipes from the manifold to merging y piece should be the same length, that right?

    magnex

you have the magnex on there at the mo, yeh? Is it a regular problem on the 3litre with the exhaust breaking? I'm having the conversion done by Mr Woods in May sometime and was going to get the magnex shipped to him, since you've had the conversion done for a long, would you have put a diffrent one on there? And just one more thing, if you think the magnex is ok for the swap can I buy yours of you?

It wasnt the back box that broke, it was the flexi section used, but paul doesnt use the cheapy one anymore, he uses the proper flexi pipe......think fimmo's one theres pics of it.

I am only replacing the down pipes to backbox for stainless steel ( when i can the funds ! ) so i am keeping the backbox !
