    expansion tank fitting

for this i used a 30 x 30mm x 270mm long piece of alluminium angle brought from big and quicks (B & Q) for about 3 quid a metre. the distance between centres of the two holes cut in it was 252mm and i used a 9.5mm drill for clearance of 8mm bolt holes on the car body. i spaced mine up 35mm with some bits of ally hex with hole drilled right through them (spacers), from the expansion tank lugs inside bay. the ally angle i cut slots with hacksaw and folded it over was only 1mm stock easy to bend.

the top hose i just used a piece of 2 x 12 stainless steel strip, bent it 90 degrees and drilled. i bolted the top hose to the strut tower lug underneath the expansion tank rail. cant see it , nemind, it just hold the top hose in place

    fitted up fine

there are two pipes coming out of the expansion tank for dumping coolant etc.. one on the cap and a hole on the side, do they both get used for dumping?

Indeed, that looks a lot more like a car than a pile of bits! Good work Adam.

I'm sure the rest of us would just have used the micrometer as a paperweight.

Or welded it to a long bar and used it as a prying stick.
