    my mk1.5 swap

spent most of yesterday stripping & plating my knuckles on various parts of me engine.. i got the cam belt back on earlier , fanks. thought i may aswell post a pic of yesterdays assembly efforts.. just standard block and head colours really, had to do it, when i got it, was covered in a funny powder substance, so ive had to wash the engine off and strip and clean it so the powder residue has gone.. jesus.. i wont be stripping it again.... now if i could remember what go's where id be doing alrite #-o

ive done all of the engine and all the other parts.. jus not all back together yet, waiting for big ends ,..then i'll weld it all together for good

what a distinct mass of wires..i'll be lucky not to blow it up when i turn it on

Adam, what did you paint that with?

I've got a couple of spray cans of halfords hi-temp aluminium paint that I'm thinking of using.. hoping to get the same look as that!

the block and black parts.. high temp black, halfords, lovely matt black it is. and the ally parts.. smoothrite silver, smooth hammerite, sticks to ally well and gives a gloss finish, but avoid it on high temp bits it go's a tinge of yellow!. the silver high temp is a matt finish. cost me 10 quid for 2 tins. cant say fairer than that :)
