Thread: Drive shaft hell!?

    It looks worse than it is really. It's all just surface rust... there are no weak points or parts where the metal has gone thin... I'll probably give it all a good lick of paint when I get round to it.

    Just curious, I've used two short (left side) MKI SC shafts for my swap but would the outer CV of the long (right side) SC shaft fit the turbo shaft?
    I'm thinking of doing another MK1.5 and I've got his extra SC long shaft floating around my garage.

    it certainly will kirk! i used the short SC shaft on my 1.5 and i took the CV off the long shaft and fitted it onto a turbo shaft...so in effect i had two short side sc shafts....you're good to go!

    so you can use the short (lhs) driveshaft from an sc, and......
    bugger thats where i got lost.



    what driveshafts are needed to complete the swap?

    you can use two short side mk1 SC shafts,these are identical to a mk2 turbo shaft with a st185 CV joint on it.

    you use them with the turbo supported shaft.

    or use a pair of mk2T shafts with st185 outer CV's on them
