Whats this bracket and do i need it?

Ok so the bracket is pictured here.


Ive forgotten to put this bracket back on and now the driveshaft is back in its going to be a pain to get it fitted.

I scanned through as many pics as i can find and gone through the epc and cant work out what this bracket does and if i really need it.

Ive seen a few pics that dont even have this bracket. Just seems to be a brace of some kind?
Its off a rev 2 turbo.

Any ideas?

Not needed, old exhaust down pipe support bracket, don't worry about it.

Thanks Paul. Thats put my mind at ease. Running an aftermarket downpipe and got the support for that.
